Brenda Martin is the owner and barber behind The Bearded Buck Barbershop in Amarillo, Texas. Her passion for barbering started early—cutting hair for dolls, her sister, neighbors, and anyone else who would let her. That early interest eventually grew into a career focused mainly on men’s hair, which she quickly came to love the most.

Opening The Bearded Buck was a long-time dream brought to life. After years behind the chair, Brenda decided it was time to build a space of her own—one that reflects her vision, values, and love for the craft. The shop’s name was chosen to be bold and memorable, something that stands out and sticks with people, just like the experience inside.

Her mission is to create a barbershop where both clients and barbers can thrive. She wants every person who walks through the door to feel comfortable, confident, and cared for, and to leave feeling their absolute best. For Brenda, it’s just as important that her team has the support and opportunity to succeed as it is for clients to enjoy a great experience every visit.

One of her proudest accomplishments so far has been the success of the shop in its first year, including being nominated for Best Barbershop in Amarillo and placing in the top three. Even more rewarding is seeing her barbers grow and watching clients return and refer friends and family.

Looking ahead, Brenda plans to continue growing The Bearded Buck while maintaining the high level of quality and atmosphere the shop is known for. Expanding the team and strengthening the shop’s presence in the community are big goals for the future.

Outside of the shop, Brenda is family-oriented and values the long-term relationships she’s built with many of her clients. She’s also a true crime fan, enjoys thrifting home décor, and loves anything that makes home and family life special.

At the end of the day, her goal is simple—every client leaves feeling confident, relaxed, and genuinely cared for, every single visit.
